It's only 10:15 am, but I can say with authority that I am having a very happy birthday. Thanks to all who have been kind enough to remember. It really makes me feel special! =)
Update: Very special birthday indeed. Co-workers, friends, and family sung and sunk (! long story) happy birthday to me at least 5 times, there was a non-stop food & drink fest (with breakfast, lunch, ice cream, cake, shots & mixed drinks, dinner, and a bottle of wine all provided by various well wishers for my consuming pleasure), I found out that I am going to be an aunt to a beautiful baby girl to be named Ellen Marie Bignault come December, and I generally felt very loved. Oh, and one the secretaries on our floor now has a crush on my Dad (having heard his rendition of the birthday tune on my voicemail). All and all, a fantastic day: a prelude to what is sure to be a fantastic year, and a fantastic decade.
Wow, my birthday isn't even here yet, but my first birthday present(s!) has arrived. Thanks Mom!
It was six years ago yesterday that Mike and I first snuggled under the fireworks on the National Mall and began our dating career. Last night, we actually watched the fireworks on TV -- oh, how the mighty have fallen! But about halfway through, I turned to him and said "Happy Anniversary, Baby!" And we kissed, and it was just as magical as that night six years ago.
My husband now officially weighs less than I do. If I don't start slipping on my running shoes and doing something about it soon, I am going to really freak out. I am so proud of him, but boy, do I need to get myself in gear!
